Hi! I'm Amy!!
Born and raised in south Louisiana and I birthed 9 children. No twins and yes we know what causes it!! Did you want to know the story about how I got into the furniture business?

So basically for the last 20 years I have been either pregnant or nursing. Even thought an MEd  (Masters in Education) is behind my name, my proudest accomplishment is being M.O.M. and raising a large family with a marriage still in tact. Speaking of a lasting marriage, I have an amazing husband who consistently encourages me and I think he is the only person on the planet who can handle my entrepreneurial DNA which continuously populates the list of things I want to do and learn.

I remember the day Distress Your Mess was born; I was about to burn my old childhood dresser after we moved. My friend convinced me that the dresser would sell if I painted it. So the next day I handed paintbrushes to 5 of my older kids and we had that dresser painted and distressed in 2 hours. After posting pics to FB Marketplace, it sold the next day!! That marks the beginning of Distress Your Mess and I am so grateful because it has provided me with power to help provide for our kids while being at home.

I love creating beautiful pieces that make my clients proud of their home and I especially love creating a space where families can sit down together to enjoy meals, laugh at each other, and make memories. My hope for Distress Your Mess is that it impacts your family internally by providing a place to connect to each other.
